Coach: Jeff Curfman

Assistant Coach: Mark Robinson
I have coached both boys and girls AAU youth basketball for the past 12 years. I coached girls ages 10 thru 17 and have taken teams to tournaments throughout the east coast including the AAU National Championships. Additionally, I coached high school varsity and junior varsity teams to county championship games in summer and fall leagues. I am entering my third season coaching boys (ages 8-10) with the Stars
My philosophy for the Stars this year is to prepare the team to compete successfully against the highest level of competition in this area. We will work diligently to improve all of our players in all areas of the game including; fundamentals, team concepts and tactics of the game. The most important aspect of the season will be to instill the value of hard work and effort in the players while building their confidence to help them to become the best they can be.

The Fairfax Stars Boys 10U Team won their third tournament championship this season. The Stars won the Charm City Pre-National Tune-up in Baltimore Maryland on June 20th. The Stars turned a close game at halftime into an easy victory with a combination of outstanding half court and full court defense in the second half. Congratulations to the boys, parents and coaching staff! _____________________________________________________________
Congratulations to the players, parents, coaches, family and friends of the Fairfax Stars 10U Boys National Team. The Stars recently completed a run of eight consecutive victories which included championship victories in the Fila Spring Classic in Silver Spring, MD and the 2010 AAU Super Regional in Harrisburg, PA. With that victory, the Stars qualified for the Division I National Championships in July.
In March, this Stars Team returned two players from the previous year and added eight with no previous AAU experience. Through hard work, dedication and a commitment to team concepts the Stars have rapidly improved and become a close knit team. Over the last 8 games the Stars have become extremely balanced in scoring and stepped up their defensive effort which has resulted in their recent success. With much of the season still remaining we are looking forward to greater challenges for our team and continued improvement from all of our players. Go Stars! |
