Davon Speight is a passionate basketball coach who is committed to developing a competitive team that emphasizes the fundamentals and prepares players for the next level of their basketball and professional careers.

Now an Arlington resident, Coach Speight grew up in Portsmouth, VA where he was a two year letterman in both basketball and football at Churchland High School. He was recruited and played for Montgomery College in the NJCAA before transferring to Marymount University. Coach Speight finished his athletic eligibility competing for the Saints’ NCAA Division III men’s basketball program and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a focus in accounting along the way.

While working as a full-time accountant, Coach Speight has also served as a varsity assistant basketball coach at three private high schools in the DMV area over the last eight seasons. Over the years, he’s helped many athletes achieve their dreams playing collegiately. This will be his second AAU season with the Stars organization and his first leading the 17U boys’ team.

The game of basketball has been an instrumental part of Coach Speight’s life.  He is committed to giving back by offering his time and advice to helping young athletes achieve their goals.  Most of all, he is excited for the 2018 season.  GO STARS!
