Scoop Heard  (Head Coach)

Coach Heard (Scoop) has over 20 years of coaching experience. He is formally director of the Maryland PG Jaguars, PG county director of Team BBC, assistant varsity coach at National Collegiate Prep, and currently assistant varsity coach at Paul International High School in Washington DC.

Coach Heard has been involved in the game of Basketball since 10 years old, getting his start at the famed Robertson Park in Los Angeles, California.  He learned the game under great coaches such coach Kitani, and coach Yushima (Fairfax HS, Hamilton HS) through their summer training programs.

Coach moved to the Washington DC area (Largo, MD) in 1989 and attended Largo HS and Friendly SHS. After attending college, coach Heard came back and got his start in coaching with the Prince George’s County Boys and Girls Club.

Coach started coaching AAU in 2006 with Air Flight Basketball leading the 17u boys team to a 4th place finish at YBOA Nationals. Coach lead the PG Jaguars 5th grade team to a 6th place finish at the  AAU Division II Nationals in 2014, and 9th place  6rh grade USBA Age Based division finish in 2015, 7th grade  2nd place finish at the Crossover Hoops Nationals in 2016, and a 8th grade Adidas Regional championship with Team BBC in 2017.

Coach Heard is a knowledgeable, dedicated mentor and coach.
